Finding beauty among the     grotesque

HOW CAN WE EXIST WITHOUT HARMING THE ENTITIES THAT SURROUND US?

My creativity is inextricably tied to my intimate connection between myself and the arts, the functionality of art to fold back the layers to reveal what lies beneath, with the goal of evoking an internal reaction and a self-reflexive response within the viewer. My work strives to depict the experienced world of emotions, feelings, and the pain we universally face - on a surface level by using color and form for impressionistic effect, and setting the mood and tone often in soft, colorful, and whimsical ways.

Conversely, some works are meticulous, painstakingly detailed, and traditionally representational. This work often includes mandalas, sacred geometry, and realism. I enjoy layering symbolism through iconography and concepts of motion, illusion, and visually striking elements of form and color that engages with the metaphysical, emotional, spiritual self, while alluding to the body and physical world.

Art acts as my sanctuary, a sacred space of emotional release, catharsis, and a means of communication by translating an intimate message that I, along with many of us, do not always possess the vocabulary to express.
